This book, Personality Assessment in Policy Psychology, is a collection of papers dealing with relevant issues in personality assessment for police work.
Abstract
The purpose of this book is twofold: 1) to act as a primer that will aid psychologists in understanding the essentials of conducting various police evaluations; and 2) to help psychologists understand the pros and cons of various tests in order to aid in test selection. While this book is intended for police psychologists, it can also be of assistance to those individuals conducting research in police psychology. The book has 16 chapters divided into 4 parts. Part I has two chapters that cover a brief history and the fundamental issues in police psychological assessment. Part II has six chapters that focus on the major assessment instruments used in police psychology. Part III contains three chapters the cover the research methods used in police psychology personality assessment; and Part IV contains five chapters dealing with applications of personality assessment in police psychology.
