THIS PROJECT BROUGHT LAW STUDENT INTERNS INTO THE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF PHILADELPHIA IN ORDER TO TRANSLATE INTEREST IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM INTO A SENSE OF PURPOSE IN A CRIMINAL JUSTICE CAREER.
Abstract
THIS EVALUATION PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF INTERVIEWS WITH THE TEN WINTER INTERNS AND THE RESULTS OF QUESTIONNAIRES FROM THE 26 SUMMER INTERNS. SUPERVISORS WERE ALSO SENT QUESTIONNAIRES. INFORMATION PROVIDED TO THE INTERNS WAS THOUGHT TO BE HELPFUL AND AS CONTRIBUTING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, AS WERE THE DUTIES THE INTERNS PERFORMED. THE ONE-TO-ONE SUPERVISION WAS DEEMED ESPECIALLY SUCCESSFUL. THE SUPERVISORS WERE PLEASED WITH THE EFFORTS EXPENDED BY THE INTERNS. RECOMMENDATIONS WERE MADE TO EASE THE ADMINISTRATIVE BURDEN ON THE PROJECT DIRECTOR, AND TO PROVIDE FOR MORE VARIATION IN THE DUTIES OF THE INTERNS. SEE ALSO NCJ-26169
