EFFECTIVE PROGRAMS ARE SEEN AS DEPENDING ON POLICE INITIATIVE AND ENCOMPASSING ALL ASPECTS OF POLICE WORK.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS THAT THE INITIATIVE FOR VIABLE COMMUNITY RELATIONS WILL HAVE TO COME FROM POLICE, SINCE THEY ARE THE ONES WHO POSSES AMONG THEMSELVES THE INTRAGROUP SOLIDARITY AND SENSE OF COMMUNITY THAT IS NECESSARY. FURTHERMORE, SPECIAL PROGRAMS IN EXCLUSIVELY MINORITY GROUP, HUMAN, OR PUBLIC RELATIONS ARE NO SUBSTITUTE FOR COURTEOUS AND COMPASSIONATE BEHAVIOR BY POLICEMEN IN THEIR CONTACTS WITH CITIZENS.
