A CONDENSATION OF A POLICE PLANNING STUDY IN CARACAS, VENEZUELA, WHICH RESULTED IN THE DIVISION OF CARACAS INTO POLICE ZONES.
Abstract
THREE MAIN AREAS WERE FIRST DELINEATED AND THEN SUBDIVIDED INTO ZONES WHICH WERE, IN TURN, SUBDIVIDED INTO POLICE DISTRICTS. THESE DIVISIONS WERE ESTABLISHED ON THE CRITERIA COMMONLY USED IN ANY GENERAL ZONING OPERATION. SPECIAL STRESS WAS LAID ON VARIANTS SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO POLICE WORK SUCH AS TOPOGRAPHY, CRIME CENTERS AND PROBLEM AREAS. THE AUTHOR IS OF THE OPINION THAT THE METHODOLOGY THAT HE DISCUSSES WILL OBVIATE THE NEED FOR SIMILAR COSTLY SURVEYS, STUDIES AND RESEARCH IN COUNTIRES WITH INSUFFICIENT FINANCIAL RESOURCES.
