THIS ARTICLE REPORTS ON A SURVEY OF 711 PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND 418 CHIEFS OF POLICE UNDERTAKEN TO DETERMINE TRENDS IN SCHOOL SECURITY AND THE USE OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE POLICE IN SCHOOL FACILITIES.
Abstract
AMONG THE SPECIFIC FACTORS REPORTED IN THIS ARTICLE ARE THE USE OF SECURITY OFFICERS AT AFTER-SCHOOL EVENTS, USE OF POLICE OFFICERS AS COUNSELORS, PATROLLING OF SCHOOL HALLS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY, AND USE OF SECURITY AND SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT.
