Abstract
A BACKGROUND REVIEW OF TRENDS RELATED TO PRESENT AND FUTURE SERVICE NEEDS OF THE CAPITOL REGION IN THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT IS PROVIDED. AMONG THE FACTORS DISCUSSED ARE POPULATION, AGE, ETHNICITY, INCOME, HOUSING, EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, HEALTH, CRIME, AND RECREATION. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALLOCATIONS AND DECISION MAKING ARE ALSO GIVEN. PRIORITY RECOMMENDATIONS SPECIFIC TO FIELDS OF SERVICE ARE PRESENTED FOR AGING, CHILDREN'S SERVICES, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING, CRIMINAL JUSTICE, EMERGENCY 24-HOUR SERVICES, FAMILY AND CHILD SERVICES, HEALTH, MENTAL HEALTH, AND RECREATION AND GROUP WORK.
