PRESENTS A LOSS PREVENTION MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHY, A SYSTEM FOR ASSESSING AND MONITORING PROTECTION NEEDS, AND PROVEN EFFECTIVE PROCEDURES FOR DEALING WITH A VARIETY OF PROTECTION PROBLEMS.
Abstract
THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SECURITY AND PROTECTION OF PROPERTY AND PERSONS IS CONSIDERED TO BE THAT OF THE HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT. THE PROCEDURE FOR DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING A PROTECTION PLAN IS PRESENTED. ACCIDENT PREVENTION, FIRE PREVENTION, RADIATION SAFETY, ASSET PROTECTION, AND PERSONNEL PROTECTION ARE DISCUSSED. ACCESS CONTROL, DATA PROCESSING, KEY CONTROL AND MASTERKEYING, PARKING ADMINISTRATION AND CONSTRUCTION REVIEW ARE IDENTIFIED AS IMPORTANT PROCEDURES FOR REDUCING LOSS AND ACCIDENTS. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS IS TREATED AND CONTRACT V. IN-HOUSE GUARD SERVICE IS DISCUSSED. TRAINING PROGRAMS AND A CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF CHANGING NEEDS AND GOALS IN THE INSTITUTION AS WELL AS IN SECURITY MEASURES ARE URGED.
