Nine experts from different agencies in Hungary met to discuss ways to prevent juvenile delinquency.
          Abstract
Juveniles are represented in crime statistics in higher proportions each year. They commit more offenses each year; these crimes are becoming more violent as well. Juveniles tend to commit crimes in groups. Alcohol and other drug abuse and related offenses are also increasing. Many juveniles are homeless, unemployed, and in a generally disadvantaged situation as well. The discussion participants included a psychiatrist specializing in alcoholism, police officials, juvenile prosecutors, a crime prevention specialist, and members of child and family support agencies.
