Abstract
A product from Florida's first RAP AGAINST VIOLENCE CONTEST, this CD presents songs and lyrics from the 10 winners of the contest expressing an antigun violence theme. These songs are the artists' story to the public, the community. The artists wanted to reach directly into the hearts and minds of the community in the hope of changing attitudes and behavior when it comes to gun violence. The CD is the result of a partnership between Florida's Office of the State Attorney, Bright House Networks, Lou Pearlman's Trans-Continental Studio, and Central Florida hip-hop station, 102 JAMZ. The title of the 10 songs on the CD are: Stop; You Don't Need That; No More; Dear America; Mercy; If You Only Knew; I'm Sorry; Put a Face on Crime; Don't Cry Now; and School House Tragedy. Volume 2 of the CD was produced in 2007 resulting from the second RAP AGAINST VIOLENCE CONTEST.
