DESCRIPTION OF THE POLICEMAN'S ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN COUNTERING JUVENILE ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR.
Abstract
AUTHOR CONTENDS THAT POLICE ARE INVOLVED IN FIVE ASPECTS OF JUVENILE CRIME. THESE ARE DISCOVERY OF DELINQUENCY, INVESTIGATION, CASE DISPOSITION, PROTECTION OF THE JUVENILE, AND PREVENTION OF DELINQUENCY. HE CONCLUDES THAT TO BE EFFECTIVE, THE POLICEMAN MUST SEE HIMSELF AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM, AND BEGIN TO COOPERATE WITH THE OTHER ELEMENTS OF THIS SYSTEM TO FIGHT DELINQUENCY.
