AN ATTEMPT TO DISCOVER COMMON CHARACTERISTICS AMONG MEDICAL REMAND REPEATERS (OFFENDERS WHO RECIDIVATED AND RECEIVED ONE OR MORE ADDITIONAL MEDICAL REMANDS WITHIN A YEAR OF THEIR FIRST REMAND).
Abstract
THE AUTHOR FOUND THAT THE EVIDENCE SUGGESTS THAT THERE IS AN EXTRAORDINARY RANGE OF PERSONS WHO HAVE AT LEAST TWO MEDICAL REMANDS IN A YEAR - YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO PROBABLY HAVE NEVER BEFORE BEEN IN FRONT OF A CRIMINAL COURT AS WELL AS OLD MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE NEVER LONG AWAY FROM THE DOCK OF ONE MAGISTRATE'S COURT OR ANOTHER. THE REASONS FOR THIS DISPARITY APPEAR TO BE EQUALLY HETEROGENOUS.
