This report on courts in the State of Washington documents the activities of judicial organizations and committees during 1990.
Abstract
The report begins with a section on special features of the court system that deals with technological developments, judicial leadership, and the elimination of bias. The next section focuses on judicial leadership in detail and notes accomplishments of the Court Management Council and the Board for Judicial Administration. This section also discusses court services, free press and fair trial issues, jury management practices, court interpreter program issues, and gender bias. Subsequent sections focus on the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Superior Court and criminal caseloads, and courts of limited jurisdiction.
