Abstract
This is a notebook from a conference on gender bias in the courts. It begins with a copy of a resolution adopted prior to the conference urging each state chief justice to establish a task force to remedy any recommendations of the task force. The agenda for the four-day conference is contained in the notebook. A list of conference participants is provided by State and also alphabetically along with addresses and telephone numbers. Biographies are included for some participants. The notebook contains an outline for a discussion on institutionalization of administrative reforms as well as a series of questions to consider and steps to take to achieve such institutionalization as amendments to codes of judicial and professional conduct, gender-neutral language in court rules, forms, jurors manuals, and civil and criminal jury charges. The conference also touched on issues of racial/ethnic bias in the judiciary and abstracts of some of these presentations are included in the notebook.
