DEVELOPMENT OF A TRAINING PROGRAM FOR GROUP WORK FOR PRISON OFFICERS IN A BRITISH LOCAL PRISON.
Abstract
THE METHOD OF TRAINING IS DESCRIBED, INCLUDING THE USE OF ON-GOING STAFF SUPPORT GROUPS DURING THE COUNSELING PROGRAM. THE MANAGEMENT AND PSYCHODYNAMIC IMPLICATIONS OF THE METHOD AS HIGHLIGHTED BY THE PROJECT ARE DISCUSSED. PARTICULAR REFERENCE IS GIVEN TO ISSUES THAT ARISE FROM MATERIAL IN THE STAFF GROUP DISCUSSIONS THEMSELVES. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
