Abstract
Statutory and Rule Changes section authorizes Supplemental Compensation for Rehabilitative Services for Catastrophic Injured Crime Victims; adds to Victims Bill of Rights the Right to display A Photograph of the Victim at the Time of Sentencing; codifies Maximum Weekly Award Permitted for Calendar Years; sets Limitation on Number of Counseling Sessions for Incidents Prior to September 1, 1997; redefines "Direct Victim" in homicide cases; and authorizes Supplemental Compensation for Rehabilitative Services for Catastrophic Injured Crime Victim. Case Summaries include detailed narratives of situations leading to victims' applications to the Board for compensation for funeral expenses, compensable claims, medical expenses and loss of earnings. The final disposition of each claim is reported including the reasoning for the decision made.
