Abstract
THIS BOOKLET CONTAINS SYNOPSES OF PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND PAPERS PRESENTED AT THE CHILD ABUSE CONFERENCE. IN ADDITION TO THE AFOREMENTIONED TOPICS, CONFERENCE MATERIAL ALSO COVERED THE HISTORY AND DEMOGRAPHY OF CHILD ABUSE, AND THE ROLE OF THE CHILD PROTECTIVE ORGANIZATION, COURTS, AND CLINICIANS. RECOMMENDATIONS FROM A PAPER ON THE PROTECTION OF THE ABUSED CHILD AND REHABILITATION OF THE ABUSING PARENT INCLUDE INTERDISCIPLINARY CONSULTATION BETWEEN PSYCHIATRISTS, PEDIATRICIANS, SOCIAL WORKERS, AND A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE COURT. THE AUTHOR OF THIS PAPER ALSO SUGGESTS PARENT HOTLINES, CRISIS NURSERIES, AND FOSTER GRANDPARENT AND SURROGATE MOTHER PROGRAMS.
