Abstract
A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF COURT REPORTING SYSTEMS CURRENTLY IN USE AND THOSE AVAILABLE FOR USE IS GIVEN. THE BOOKLET CONTAINS A SUMMARY OF THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF STANDARDS' STUDY OF REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES OF CRIMINAL COURTROOM REPORTING TECHNIQUES. THE DOCUMENT ALSO PRESENTS THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR STATE COURTS' DISCUSSION PAPER ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF COURT REPORTING IN THE STATE COURTS. THIS PAPER EXAMINES DATA ON EXISTING MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, DISCUSSES PERCEIVED ADMINISTRATIVE PROBLEM AREAS, AND SUGGESTS APPROACHES TO THEIR SOLUTIONS.
