This study measured variations in thickness within a pane of annealed float glass.
Abstract
The thickness of a 183 cm x 122 cm pane of annealed, float glass of 6 mm nominal thickness was examined. A thickness variation of 0.13 mm over a distance of approximately 30 cm and an overall variation of 0.14 mm within the entire pane were noted. These findings support the exclusion criterion of greater than 0.15 mm for float glass thickness comparisons, regardless of the dimensions of the pane. (Published Abstract)
