TECHNICAL EVALUATION OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF AUTOMATIC VEHICLE MONITORING (AVM) SYSTEMS AND THE EXPERIMENTS FORMING THE BASIS OF THESE EVALUATIONS.
Abstract
THE VARIOUS FORMS THAT AN AVM SYSTEM CAN TAKE-INCLUDING PROXIMITY (PAVM), DEAD-RECKONING (DAVM), AND TRIANGULATION (TAVM) - ARE DESCRIBED AND COMPARED IN DETAIL. EXPERIMENTS REGARDING THE DAVM AND TAVM SYSTEMS ARE OUTLINED AND THE RESULTS ARE DISCUSSED. THE COST STRUCTURE OF A TAVM DEMONSTRATION PROJECT IS ESTIMATED. THE TECHNICAL APPENDIXES INCLUDE DETAILS OF THE EQUIPMENT, METHODS, AND RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT TO EVALUATE THE VARIOUS AVM SYSTEMS.
