Abstract
In cases of child sexual abuse, when the investigative process is carried out carefully and conscientiously, answers to question of guilt or innocence begin to emerge. This guide provides useful tools to conduct a thorough and objective investigation of suspected cases of child sexual abuse to determine whether they can be substantiated, and if so, to facilitate successful prosecution of perpetrators. Also provided are helpful hints for interviewing the child and other possible victims, relatives, friends, non-offending caregivers, and any suspects. Specific questions, including questions about the child, the suspect and their relationship, are provided. Other techniques, including search warrants, crime scene procedures, gathering physical evidence, and medical examination are also covered. Table and list of supplemental readings
