Abstract
THESE LAW-RELATED PROGRAMS EDUCATE AMERICAN STUDENTS FROM KINDERGARTEN THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL ON THE LAW, LEGAL PROCESS, AND LEGAL SYSTEM, AND ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF LAW-RELATED CURRICULUMS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH INNOVATIVE AND COMPREHENSIVE LAW-RELATED CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION. THE FIVE SECTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: AN ESSAY ON LAW-RELATED EDUCATION, EXAMINING LAW-RELATED PROGRAMS AND THE NEED FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT; A DESCRIPTION OF THE YEFC ACTION PROGRAM, ITS SERVICES AND LINKS TO BAR ASSOCIATIONS, EDUCATORS, AND INTERESTED COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS; A DESCRIPTION OF THE OBJECTIVES, STRUCTURE STRATEGIES, AND ACTIVITIES OF SOME LAW-RELATED PROJECTS OF GENERAL INTEREST, REVEALING THE DIFFERENT APPROACHES THAT CAN BE USED IN LAW-RELATED EDUCATION; A PRESENTATION OF SOME TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMS OF GENERAL INTEREST WHICH HAVE INVOLVED TRAINING BY LAWYERS, JUDGES, AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS AND WHICH PRESENT STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES BY EDUCATORS TO ADAPT SUBJECT AREAS TO CLASSROOMS; AND PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS TO LAWYERS AND BAR ASSOCIATIONS AS TO HOW THEY CAN PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SERVICES AND OTHER KINDS OF SUPPORT TO EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN THE FIELD.
