Abstract
THE TERM VIOLENCE IS DEFINED AND THE EMPIRICAL STATE OF AFFAIRS OF VIOLENCE PREDICTION ACCURACY IS DISCUSSED. FACTORS THAT MIGHT EXPLAIN RESEARCH FINDINGS CHARACTERIZED AS DISMAL ARE EXAMINED. A PROPOSAL FOR AN ALTERNATE STRATEGY FOR THE PREDICTION AND PREVENTION OF VIOLENT ACTS BY IDENTIFYING VIOLENCE-PRONE SITUATIONS IS SET FORTH.
