PRINCIPLE AND OPERATION OF A PRACTICAL AND INEXPENSIVE METHOD FOR FIELD USE BY POLICE AND CUSTOMS AGENTS, DEVELOPED IN WEST GERMANY.
Abstract
IN THE PRINCIPLE OF THE ANNULAR KILN, A DROP OF SOLUTION CONTAINING THE SUBSTANCE TO BE TESTED IS PLACED ON A CIRCULAR PAPER FILTER WHICH IS OVER A HOT METAL RING. WHEN A DROP OF ANOTHER APPROPRIATE SOLUTION IS ADDED, THE TEST SUBSTANCE IS SEPARATED OUT. IN THIS APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE, A BLUE SALT IS USED TO MAKE VISIBLE THE TRACES OF HASHISH. INCLUDED IN THE ARTICLE ARE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE MATERIALS USED TO CONSTRUCT A KILN WHICH COSTS LESS THAN 20 MARKS (LESS THAN 8 DOLLARS IN 1974). --IN GERMAN
