This packet was designed to assist action teams formed at the Community Mobilization Training Conference on September 20, 1991 to become functional and successful TACC's.
Abstract
Community Youth Gang Services (CYGS) and Youth 2000 established the Greater Los Angeles TACC, which accepts membership applications from [local] newly established TACC's. Upon admission, these latter organizations will be chartered and their progress and development facilitated by CYGS/Youth 2000 staff. Advantages of membership include updated antigang and community mobilization techniques, limited access to the CYGS gang tracking database, crime report updates, and ongoing assistance by qualified CYGS/Youth 2000 staff. Also, each chartered TACC will receive a TACC newsletter, the latest versions of the Gang Education Assessment and Planning System (the most up-to-date community related antigang technology) and certification upon completion of any components outlined in the Assessment and Planning Systems. The packet includes succinct descriptions and how-to procedures for each component of the action campaign to assist each TACC in establishing a successful Community Recovery Campaign. Components of the program include such activities as Graffiti Removal, Anti-Gang Public Relations Campaigns, Mental Health Counseling, and Recreation and Sports Activities.
