This report presents objectives and work plans for technical assistance to juvenile detention programs and for juvenile corrections in general.
Abstract
Technical assistance for juvenile detention includes continued support for three established juvenile detention resource centers throughout the country and the establishment of such a center in the West. Technical assistance for existing centers includes funding, duplicating and mailing bulk materials, advertising training workshops, and coordinating and evaluating workshops at the centers. The primary technical assistance for the western center will be site selection. The technical assistance for juvenile corrections focuses on private as well as public secure and nonsecure juvenile correctional facilities. Objectives include the strengthening of the national network of juvenile correctional leaders, sponsoring of policy seminars and a national forum, and the development of policies and procedures for juvenile training schools. The management and budget of the technical assistance program are described. Attachments include an organizational chart and indirect cost-rate documentation.
