This webinar will provide details and guidance for potential applicants to the Bureau of Justice Assistance's FY24 Enhancing Correctional Practices to Protect Vulnerable People: Technical Assistance and Microgrant Program solicitation. The presenter will discuss the purpose and goals of this funding opportunity; review eligibility requirements; and address frequently asked questions. A Q&A session will conclude this webinar.

The purpose of this new BJA program is to administer a competitive microgrant program and provide training and technical assistance to state, local, and tribal agencies working to protect vulnerable people in prisons, jails, and other confinement settings, and to reduce reliance on restrictive or punitive approaches. Vulnerable people include, but are not limited to, those with one or more physical disability, severe/persistent mental illness, or who are LGBTQ+, youthful inmates in adult facilities, blind, deaf, or non-English speaking.
