In this annotated bibliography, the Center for Victim Research (CVR) Library summarizes research reports related to services for male crime victims.

Abstract

There are sections of publication listings on male victims from rural communities, indigenous men, men and boys in criminal and juvenile justice systems, and undocumented immigrant men. Although most listed publications focus on heterosexual adult men, a few listed reports pertain to emerging adults and youth crime victims.  Literature searches focused on works written in English and are limited to research conducted in the United States. This bibliography contains systematic literature reviews, surveys, and program evaluations; most were published between 2014 and 2020.Topics covered include victimizations related to intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and violent victimizations that include robbery, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon. Listings are organized by the lead author’s last name. Assistance is available from the CVR Librarian in locating full-text or additional written materials.
