THE DAMAGE DONE BY SEXUAL OFFENSES IS PRIMARILY OF A MENTAL RATHER THAN A PHYSICAL NATURE - MORE OR LESS TEMPORARY SHOCK AND MORE OR LESS PERMANENT SEXUAL INHIBITIONS MAY BE PRODUCED.
Abstract
HOWEVER, SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY AND EVEN THE DEATH OF THE VICTIM CAN RESULT. THE VICTIM MAY PROVOKE THE OFFENSE CONSCIOUSLY OR UNCONSCIOUSLY. STUDIES HAVE INDICATED THAT THIS IS FREQUENTLY THE CASE WHERE HETEROSEXUAL, HOMOSEXUAL AND INCESTUOUS RELATIONS BETWEEN ADULTS AND JUVENILES OVER 12 ARE INVOLVED. METHODICAL AND FRANK SEXUAL EDUCATION AND OUTSPOKEN INFORMATION REGARDING SEXUAL DEVIATIONS ARE CERTAINLY THE MOST IMPORTANT MEANS OF PREVENTING SEXUAL OFFENSES. --IN DUTCH
